Damn! The Danish Custom strike back!!!!! I got a letter today, they have a package with a double cut SH-E, a black Camp Tramp and my PD...
So I have to aply for a "import autorisation of edged weapon" and tell them how much they cost... If I tell them an amount and they don't believe it they have the right to check the price and I'll have to pay 50% of the value of the package (including shiping) in that case I'll have to pay 375$
The wife is gonna kill me!!!!!!!:grumpy:

Damn, that sucks!
Really hope you can convince them that they are cheap! Might be in the same situation myself soon!:grumpy:

Holy Cow! Is the 50% a penalty for falsifying the info or would that be the standard fee if you just put the actual cost down?:grumpy:

If I remember right that 50% is standard:rolleyes: Makes one glad to live in the US sometimes.

Sorry for your trouble Oli, it seems that when things start going smoothly someone has to throw a wrench in the works. I hope the package I sent to the wife gets in there OK:confused:

Keep us updated on the crisis, and I hope it all comes out allright. Good luck to you as well Bo! Its hard to be addicted to something thats not friendly to your country:( :barf:

Best of luck with customs. Sorry to hear of your problems, stay positive it may all still work out for the better.

unfortunately in Denmark 50% is the standar taxe when you have a package incoming from a firm...Holli was very nice to mark it as "gift" with a 50$ amount on the custom blanket, but for the customs in Denmark, Gift are only from "personnal" or private...not from a compagny... So I have to declare an amount and if they mean the amount is not corect they have the right to investigate for the real amount! So if I tell them the package's price is 50$ they're gonna laugh...
Thanks Dwayne! well, since you send it as "friend" the custom have to accept it's a gift, so no worry there...
375$!!!!!! I could have buy another NO for that!!!!!:grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:
At least the "import autorization" from the cops is solved, it took 5 minutes to get at the local police station...

it's ridiculous, they taxe the value of the package, plus shiping taxes, plus some taxes for "proceed" the package, plus some taxes because they work on your case and the all give about 50% of the package...
I will better understand if they said "the law say you have to pay 25% on the value of the knife" but here they make you pay on everything, even their taxes for their timework! :barf:

If you cant view the link, go first to the main portion of the site, and then go to battleships, select the Iowa, and the section that is 56 to present.

Customs can be a terrible thing.

Umm, I used my Basic 9 yesterday.

Now are we back on course?;)
