A while back I had problems with a new Case jackknife. I sent it back and got it fixed, but was mad about the original condition. The knife stayed in a drawer and I lamented my purchase. Well the other day, after reading one of Jackknife's Tales, I got inspired to pocket this very knife. It cuts like no tomorrow and has excellent edge holding. I guess the joke's on me. Anybody else have this experience? I still find my Victorinox knives better in f&f, but this was a surprise.

I had a similar experience with a Queen Stockman. This was shortly before Queen shut down.
One of the springs broke and I contacted Queen.

I sent them my knife that was practically new, and after a few months they sent me someone's well-used knife, with heavily pitted blades.
I knew it wasn't mine, so I contacted them again.

I returned it a second time and all they did was polish the blades and send it back to me.
Never got my original knife back.

I was so pissed that I tossed the knife in a drawer, and it sat for years.

I recently took it out and realized someone lost their well-loved stockman and so I started using it.
Or maybe they got my brand-new amber bone stockman:)
