While this knife is designed to cut fruits and vegetables, it'll also cut your pizza when the chips are down.

The name was inspired by the Netflix 'documentary' of the same name, which I recommend you DON'T watch unless you like watching greedy people screw each other over.

Anyway, this knife is made from .125" A2 tool steel, copper and cocobolo- with a vulcanized fibre spacer. I prefer a hand rubbed finish, but I'm trying to learn how to leave a decent belt finish. Obviously, I've still got a lot to learn😄

Thanks for looking!

That is very nicely done. I especially like the pebbly look on the bolster. How did you do that?

Also, how long is the edge?

Thanks,
Joe

the dimples on the face of the guard are hammered in, nothing fancy. The blade is probably about 4" long by 2" wide

Actually watching bad people doing each other wrong can be very satisfying. I'm sure I've seen more than one movie like that.

The knife looks like a cross between a meat cleaver and a slightly Americanized santoku.

I agree with your assessment of the film and shame this knife is given the same name as that knife is very, very nice. If it were vegan, one could say Good vegan, very good vegan.

The dimpling looks like it was painted on. If you are in the mood for taking photos, would like to see a side profile shot looking so the side of the bolster is 90 degrees to your face or runs parallel with a fire-fighter's pole. Better yet, how about a mirror-polished firefighting pole and the Bad Vegan sandwiched up against it vertically.

looks like it can cut some carrots! I told my sis that she needs to send photos and this is the first

Looks pretty cool from here - nice work on the join between the tang and bolster - seems pretty tight.

I have a couple of Japanese patterned Nakiri's (or vegetable cleavers) and those tall, no edge curvature, cleaver shaped blades work nicely when prepping in the kitchen.

Thanks for sharing your work.

thank you very much, I appreciate it! This knife actually turned out quite a bit nicer than I thought it was going to. I was kinda winging it, so the end result was a surprise

although I've only made a few kitchen knives, I really enjoy it. All kinds of knives are cool, but the idea of making knives which I, (or anyone especially people who want to feed me) can use for making food is appealing. I like to make food as well, so any excuse to use a knife I made is a solid fringe benefit
