While I was at the Spirit of steel show in Mesquite, TX a few weeks ago looking for a new manual carry knife, I searched high and low looking for something that was made to be USED and has some personality, ya know like a large decorated sebenza without the price tag.

I came across a maker named Jason Jacks out of LUFKIN TX, when i saw his knifes i thought to myself these are REAL nice for the money i just wish it was bigger (like a large sebenza) it took awhile for me to make up my mind because there were so many great knives at the show (i got in 3 hours before the public, so i was able to cherry pick) anyway i have NEVER cut myself so much with any one knife, on two of the cuts i should have gotten stitches but didn't, this is the SHARPEST knife I've ever owned, and made as well if not better them many knives i paid 5 times more for! do yourselves a favor and check this guy's work out below is a link to mine. do you believe knives can have a personality? I'm almost afraid to open this darn knife now "it scares me) i keep thinking that the NEXT cut will be down to the bone.

I haven't failed! I just found ten thousand ways that don't work!

I agree with you. Jason's knives are outstanding and the pictures don't do them justice. The action on the ones I've tried have been extremely smooth as well. I first saw his fine work at the Austin show. I just gave a quick look at Mesquite. I hate to torture myself.

The one you picked up would have been my first choice also. Congratulations and enjoy.

Thanks for the heads-up. I just checked out his site & his gallery still has me drooling. I'm delighted to see that he'll be attending the NY Custom show next month. His table just made my "must visit" list.

Greg,

You can have some bad knives. I had a Speedtech that loved to cut me and anyone else I gave it to. Count 17 Stitches for the other people in two days and it went out the door. It was bloodthirsty and I don't know why. Don't care either.

I saw Jason's knives at the show and I agree that they were very well priced for the work.

Ditch that one and pick up another that likes your flesh a bit less....

txlaser, that is nice. I wondered what happened to you. I saw Sammy and Kevin several times, but you must have disappeared after you got Jason's knife. By the time I got around to his table, the selection was somewhat limited and so was my $. There's always next year. I'm saving my $.

BTW, I hate to see you hurt yourself with that knife, so let me know and I'll send you shipping $. lol

Can you please provide some additional info about your new knife (OAL, blade length, blade material, etc.....)?

txlazer,
That is one dangerous looking knife. I agree it is full of bad mojo.
Send it to me. I have a backhoe out here on the farm. I'll dig a deep pit, poor some concrete, and toss the knife in deep. Hopefully that would be enough to save us all.

sorry here some info
closed (just a hair under 4 1\2 inches
open 7 1\4 inches
blade 2 7\8 inches of mirror polished ats34
with a recurved DEEP hollow grind it has a GREAT cutting edge (just look at my hands and fingers)
the handles are titanium, with a "sebenza" style lock and it has carbon fiber scales, I've asked Jason if he would be willing to make some other scales, Damascus, MOP, Ivory, etc., I haven't heard back yet.

to make the lines (decoration)
Jason put a mirror finish on the Ti handles then does his anodizing of different colors, then he tapes them off with pin stripping tape and sand blasts the handles, he also did this with the ti pocket clip it's very cool

He uses somekind of a barrel spacer which really dresses it up to.

this knife gets a 9
