Bad weather Made a few sheaths

Very nice 👍🏻, I wouldn't know where to start with leather

Nice, I love the War Dog… someday I will own another. Possibly my biggest (almost regret) letting go of the one or two that I've had over the years…. had one that was 4" flat ground camp from Knob Creek in addition to standard factory one. No regrets though...

Yea I have sold maybe 4 war dogs only to realize it's really perfect for my needs. I sort of regret selling my 2008 comp sarsquatch but the handle wasn't the best fit for me. I have my basic 8 and could not be happier. I guess I prefer res-c. The best in performance to weight ratio.

Good job, look nice. I got my leather tools but have not started with them yet. I have been watching videos but I am just going to have to cut into that big hunk of leather I got. I got the huge piece, its like 5 or 6 feet long and about 3 feet wide and I am trying to find the courage to cut into to it to start to make something lol. Again good job, my fear of messing something up is keeping me from making it. I am often too much of a perfectionists for my own good.

Start off with a simple sheath and then work on improving from there. Every sheathmaker had to start from the beginning.;)

Toms right, keep it simple. Keep it small at first. I cut a pattern out of a brown paper bag and use it to cut out my leather. I threw a few away when I started. The process grew on me. That large piece of leather you have is probably a shoulder. I am on my third now.

ok thank you. Thats a good idea. I have been thinking of different patterns and what to do. It is a matter of making that first cut. using some template is the best advise and thank you for that. Sometimes even the most simple of advise is the best advise when it comes to where to start something you may know nothing about. I should have thought of that lol. I make templates all the time for things, should be an easy transition. My Dad did some leather working when I was younger and it did not look so hard, he just winged it from what I remember so thats where my disconnect was. In my head I was maybe going about it the same as he did but I don't have any experience with it to build upon. Its like anything that is new and that all of teaching an old dog new tricks thing. I just need to make that plunge and JUST DO IT like the old commercial says.
