Thanks to a forum member, I have one of these on the way. I have owned small INFI in the past (Public Defender, Active Duty, INFIcoot, Scrapper 4), but these blades were all just a bit thick for what I like in a 4" or so blade. Not saying I am right, I am just saying. Wanted a BAD for some time, because I like the AD's handling, size, etc. otherwise, because of the thinner blade, and because of the higher RC. I think this is really going to be one of those I keep. I was going to team this with a Big Chris hybird, for a mutt and jeff combo, but then i realized we should be seeing an anniversary BM this year...might have to keep it in the family, so to speak. And, that Taliwhacker just looks incredible, and then there is the Ratweiller...

:thumbup:I recently snagged a BAD with black canvas handles. Might make it my EDC when I get a leather sheath for it. Currently carrying a CG AD, sterile, black canvas and desert olive blade with a penetrator tip.

I have 2 BADS :) and 2 CG Active Dutys:) easily my favorite EDC style knives. GreAt handles and size of knife for it.

BADs are great, blade shape, handle shape, all excellent. That freaking choil kept catching on everything though

Where these convex edged? I realize that, obviouslyh, they are not for chopping and such, but I have grown fond of convex for most knife applications. If they were not so edged, and if no one here talks me out of it, I guess i would need to find someone good at doing this very thing. I can not help but wonder, if these are so ggod and fill such a niche, why they do not come back around someday.cwd

No, standard edge. I would give it a try as is for a while, and if you still want a convex its not hard to do. You can do a search, and see the methods used.

OK, Ken44, I will strongly consider that. One reason I like the convex is the long life it tends to provide for a blade, at least in theory (haven't had one long enough to wear it out yet). If I do go convex, i do not paying a pro to get it profiled correctly from the start, and i can probably maintain it from there.

Daft, the regular AD I had had a comfortable handle for my medium (ok, maybe even smallish) hands...gorilla-mitts might find it on the spare side, I guess.

They are ground nice and thin. Very very easy to convex the edge if you choose.

I carried one for years. They slice so great!

I have a CABS. Thin, convexed edge. If it had the higher RC it would be even better.

I sold my BAD because of the Choil issue. If it had no choil, I would have kept it. It was an EDC that I really enjoyed. The handle was great for a small edc. Comfortable in the hand, lots of grip options.

Here's my BAD. I carry it 2 or 3 times a week.

Thanks, all. Once I get it, I have a friend here and some nice leather ready for a sheath. Plan on EDCing, both in and out of town.cwd

Excellent knife, I love mine, I take it everywhere every time I have the chance. You will love yours. Some pics of my BAD:
