Have a whole new level of stamina in doing the pencil pusher job I work knowing this bad boy is in my backpack.

You simply don't know when the need to poke a rubber tree might arise.
Or to draw words of wisdom from the Fisher well of ink.
Or just to hear my boss asking 'brj, you workin'?'

As silly and non-essential as it might be, any gear that is outside the norm could be the difference, and it honestly only needs to be the difference once. And if you enjoy it, all the better. I remember reading a testimony of some dudes digging through a wall in one of the Towers which let them exit one stairwell and enter the other, and all they had to dig was a window squeegee. If I was ever in a "It's all gone to shit, we just have to get home" I'd be able to sleep again if I'd been able to hand a few unprepared co-workers a tool that might have been of help, and while "stuff" should always be just "things I have to help me get something done" nothing wrong with buying high quality stuff if the funds allow on the day. And to be fair, in a lot of cases, if I needed to bargain with someone in the time it takes for me to get from work to home after "the world ends" I'll bet they'll take a lot of things that are not gold coin, because useful things are useful, it actually takes a lot of stability for coin of any type (or gold itself for that matter) to be useful as a resource.

I agree, he should include a flask and a pack of smokes/lighter

My loved ones think it's the end of the world if their phone is misplaced or forgotten.
idk If I even include it in part of the kit, hahah
for me, I went most of my life without one. I don't see it as much use for emergencies..... I tell them its for Conveniences. They don't get it
True emergencies a phone wont do much good. Sorry for the babble.... I don't have my Wick set/done either.

*I'd add a nice pliers to Yours though

Yep, the kit needs some knipex action!

When are some of our posters going to finally ‘get’ the fact that the use of tobacco , is like playing Russian Roulette with a loaded recvolver? Over time you loose and either die a rather early, ugly and painful death OR get ‘lucky’ and only end -up with emphasysema OR as I did, end-up with the aggravation of my environmental allergies and sinus problems ( painful and operation causing on its own), capped off with early detection of lung cancer and an operation resulting in a ‘cure’ and long term nerve pain in my abdomen from the need to cut a nerve , during the new ‘ more minor procedure they do to avoid cracking your chest open and removing only a piece of the affected lung! All that crap because I wanted to be ‘ cool’ when I was 16 and my parents , both smokers, didn’t forbid it or teach me more wisely. Yeah, pack that ‘ pack of smokes’ , trendy Zippo lighter ,and look cool like Bogart ( or so you think ) ! Then go out and do something really cool ,like play in the traffic!

I'm not gonna lie, whenever I see an EDC photo shoot that includes a fancy handkerchief and a vape pen and cartridge, I get a little judge-y in my head. Especially on Facebook, where there seems to be a whole thing with 'fancy handkerchiefs featuring nude cartoon characters' that makes my eyes just about roll out of my head. Gotta make sure if I ever get to BLADE Show that I never shake hands with anybody carrying that kinda stuff. Or bring my Costco hand sanitizer.

What about Service Men with jiggly boob tattoos?I
😅😅😅😅

Servicemen with tattoos on their jiggly boobs or tattoos of jiggly boobs? The distinction is important!

Haha....might be Both.?

My Dad was a Navy Nam vet, covered in tattoos.... He showed them off with pride, often shirtless. I remember as a kid watching people how they interacted with him.
-back then not everyone had tattoos like today. He had the typical huge eagle across his chest. Said it only cost $5 hand poked in Japan....also had various ladies, like I mentioned. A geisha type of looking lady, who I recently found out was his fiancee, he was "supposed" to marry. Never knew anything about that.....family secrets.

Father's Day coming up brings back memories....

I can be judgey about stuff too. Unless there's imminent risk of something bad happening, I keep it in my head.

I smoked for a life-limiting amount of time before quitting when I decided to. Being rude enough to imply I was too stupid to know better was a great identifier of people I have no time for. If they are sincere, they are deeply ignorant about the art of persuasion. And if they just get off on feeling superior, they can step right off.

I was not trying to be “judgy” or “superior” or holier than thou, in particular. Do what u want. It’s ur body. I certainly abused mine, until I decided not to, without regard to warnings. BUT, that was not my point. I was merely asking that you think twice before glorifying this and other dangerous habits in print or media. It’s just a bad idea for societal health and young folks are often subtlety influenced by cleverly phrased words. Just my opinion. YMMV.
