I am about to purchase a grinder anybody who own's a Bader III please let me know if it is worth the investment. Also are there any tracking problems with them.

I bought one over a year ago and couldnt be happier! Ive used burr kings and wiltons and wouldnt trade the bader for anything. Ive not had any tracking problems in the time Ive had it. Also buy it directly from Bader and ask for a deal on it. I bought mine at a show from them and got a great deal. You have to negotiate everything these days.

Good Luck

A friend of mine just finnished setting up a brand new one. He had the time of Russ Andrews who was a very well known maker in the 80's. Russ and my friend both tell me it tracks straight under a load. They seemed to be very happy with it thus far.

Tom Carey

I am also considering the purchase of a Bader III. I'd hate to buy the wrong machine when so much money is involved. Do any users out there have any negative comments about them? Any problems I should know about?

Thanks.

Carl

I bought the Bader III at last years Cheasapeake knife show - and I couldn't be happier! OK - I'd "like" to have the variable speed motor, but I do just fine with 3 different drive wheels.

I started out using a friends grinders - a Wilton Square Wheel and a Bader II. Both of these are good machines, but the Bader II was a PITA about changing from big wheel to flat platten to small wheels. The Bader III has no such problem - it tracks better then anything I've used so far.

The Bader III is in my opinion, the best deal out there right now. And I too will advise you to make arrangements to pick it up at a local show if you can - saves you the shipping charges, and if you package up a few extra things (like small wheels, etc...) you can save a bunch of money!

Take care,
Bob

Thank-You Redbeard and to all of the other members for your help I will definitely buy a Bader III.

I'm the guy Tom Carey was talking about with the new Bader BIII. It is sweet! I had to sell 3 of my favorite custom knives( one of which was a Tim Hancock) to pay for it, and I dont regret it for a minute. Now, if I only had heat in my garage.

i have a BII for about 5 years, and i am going to purchase a BIII shortly. if you haven't purchased it already, do it! (as if the other messages were't enough influence)
dan, doug, paul and the whole bader crew are the most accomadating, friendly people you'll meet in ANY business. not to knock anyone else's grinder, but if service matters, not to mention quality and features, i believe bader is the best!!!
