I am contemplating buying a Bader III belt grinder.
I've noticed that there are lots of places to order one from, but does anyone have an opinion as to whether or not one place is better than another?
Any input will be appreciated.

I will stake my reputation on K+G and Tru-Grit. Shipping is not normally an issue as almost all companies drop ship from the factory in NY. Both companies are tops. I bought my BIII2hpVS from K+G to avoid sales tax.

I got mine at a knife show. They had a Bader rep there and he gave me a great deal. I don't have the contact info but you might want to find it and maybe cut out the middle man.BTW you'll love the BIII!!!!Good luck!

You can get it directly from Bader, 518-753-4456, for less than the retail MSRP in most suppliers catalogs. Or Pops Knife Supplies (Washington GA) was running a special at the factory Bader price in his last catalog, and he is a great guy to deal with. He is also an accomplished knifemaker with lots of helpful experience, and doesn't mind sharing it.

I just got a BIII, 2hp VS to replace my old BII which finally used up it's motor after 13 years of grinding blades. The BIII has several improvements over the old model including better belt tracking (uses the idler wheel instead of the contact wheel), easier belt changing, and tool bars which keep things aligned properly.

I have found the variable speed is well worth the extra price.
