Badger Attack 3 or Pro Guides knife?

I've been eyeing a Dozier Professional guides knife as my new "car camping" / out in the woods knife.

But I like Busse in general, so I took at peek at the Badger Attack 3.

Any pro's / cons to either? Which is a better overall, general-purpose, do-everything out in the woods camping sort of knife?

Not looking for a "hunting" knife, just general "right size" utility.

Since those are two of my favorite knife makers, I would have to say....get both ;) .

If you are looking for a slicer go with the Dozier. Bob's knives are much sharper out of the box. If you want strength, well, that's a no brainer :D .

I like how the BA-3 has the blade lower than any other part of the knife, but don't like the useless little choil that gets caught on everything if you insert the blade completely into whatever your cutting. Also the BA has the coating and that Busse warranty. Great for no worries.

The Dozier is probably more comfortable (depending on the size of your hands) and comes with (IMHO) a better sheath. Plus no choil.

Between the two blades mentioned, I would definitely go for the Dozier.

No problemo, I was looking at your site and saw the pic of the Pro Guides Knife with the Desert Ironwood. Is that what your planning on getting?

The PGK is a pretty stout knife in its own right. It's no Busse, but it's no slouch either.

I've got the PGK and feel it is strong enough for just about any outdoor or camping choore. It is definitely sharper than a Busse. Although, my convex grind 3/16" Satin Jack is good indication that Busse's knives can be very sharp, too. The PGK is just the "right" size. Not too big. Not too small. That's why I like it as a general outdoor/camping knife.

If you happen up to the Parker area you are welcome to check out my PGK, as well as compare it to a couple of Busses, 3/16" SJ and 1/4" NO.

I was toying with ordering one like the one pictured on my web page, but I decided as a USER, the black Micarta would be fine.

Plus there's no wait from A.G. Russell.

The more I think about this, the more I think about a Satin Jack with a symetrical edge  :footinmou .
