Would anyone out there care to measure the blade width of the new BAE.What is the width like in comparison to the basic #5.Thanks.
 
I don't have a Basic 5 but here are some quick and dirty measurements for the BA-E.

Width at cutting edge nearest handle: 39 mm
Width midway to tip: 38 mm
