OK, now that BFC works again, I'll give this another shot...

Picked up 5 knives at Badger. Fortunately, I don't shop for "perfect"

, just knives I like, by makers I like.

This one was good enough to take the "Best Art/Fantasy Cutlery" prize.

Bub and I started working on the design for this knife at the last Badger show, and he put pretty much every minute of the last 5 weeks into the handle.

It starts at the top with a mokume pommel, then the sculpted walrus ivory handle, then a .999 fine silver spacer, then a mokume spacer, then a sterling silver spacer, then a wrought iron guard, then a silver spacer/onlay. The blade is Chuck Hawes twist damascus, and the maker's mark is in a 24k gold inlay. The sheath is by Tinus Beukes out of presentation same with a gold button and stem, mounted to a mokume plate, which is fastened with sterling silver pins.

Here's Bub with his award:

Beautiful knives, all 5 of them!

I'm curious. Did you have a hand in designing any of them other than the Worrell knife?

I got to hold this one. Very nice!

As usual, Brian's impeccable taste directs him to the best knives in the show!

Thanks, Bugs! And the Worrell is the only true "custom" in the bunch. The rest were bought from selections off of tables. Of course, I have orders placed with Dale and Bub for next year, and when Zaza asked to decorate a Lamprey, how could I let that idea slide by...

Terrific knife Brian - I was pleased when my friend and fellow Hoosier Bub told me who his client was for that piece! Still impresses me the way that room erupted with applause for Bub when they announced it was a show winner

Congrats on a magnificent piece from one heck of a nice guy,
