Anyone know who is maknig sheaths for my newest infi love yet, if not when. Also it has been mentiones that Kaydex sheaths wear away the coating but do kaydek inserts in nylon sheaths do the same. If so would it be possible to order a loose fitting kaydex insert and have the old fassioned handle clips for security, the reason i want the insert is for the safty factor.
cheers

All the usual suspects (Brian, Dwayne, Dave etc) have excellent offerings. Links to them can be found on Jerry's web site.

Until those arrive, I'm carring mine in a short Spec-Ops which works exactly as you describe. The Kydex insert is loose on the blade and there is a nylon/velcro/snap loop around the handle to retain the knife. It's not a perfect fit but it's pretty good.

i mean why is that sheath it not perfect for the badger for example "handle clips are a bit loose or tight" "the Kaydex insert is a bit loose or tight" "the badger is a bit too long"
Im trying to work out if there is actually a fault with that sheath (its design size etc) for the badger ie they just dont match together well or it is just that it is not quite a perfect fit.

Anyone elce got anything that is working for them?

It really does fit very well. I'd prefer the Kydex to be a bit more snug (and, yeah, I'm sure I could tighten it some but, like I said, it's temporary). It is a bit large for the overall dimensions of the knife. Long loops on the top, drop loop for a leg tie on the bottom, pouch on the fron for a kit or sharpener or whatever. Depends what you need it for. For camping, hunting or military operations it's quite good. For daily suburban life..... Maybe not.

The Spec Ops is a generic sheath for a 5" - 6" knife. Given that, the BATAC fits quite well. And they are reasonably priced, well built and readily available. Not a bad choice, really. I'll post a photo later.

Hope this helps,

Ken

I have both a BATAC and a Spec-Ops sheath on order at the moment so thanks for showing pics of the two together !

Would it take much to remove the Kydek insert and heat it , then shape it a bit to suit the BATAC then reattach the insert ?

Removal would be simple. I think the skills section is in the heating/shaping. You'd probably want to put the screw in to make sure it stays lined up (you'll see what I mean when you get yours.

Good luck, let me know how it works out.

That's a good looking combo. Is that pocket big enough to accommodate a decent flashlight? Either a 2 x AA or maybe a 2 x CR123 ?

I have a 2AA 3 LED that fits in there nicely but I usually keep a ceramic stone in it.
