Went to the Badgerland show Friday afternoon for a quick spin. Quick since I didn't want to spend any money and I had my GF with me and she isn't into knives except to be with me so I didn't want to bore her. Ended up at the dealer tables mostly since the Badger show seems to be predominately traditional type knives and I'm a tacticool folder kind of guy. As usual Gary Moore had the best selection of the tacticool custom stuff there and he's right inside the door so I did a quick glance at his stuff still wanting to make a quick first pass through the show and jokingly asked him if he had any of the Kershaw JYD IIs in. Jokingly because I didn't think they were released yet and it's one of the only production folders that's really "spoken" to me lately. He pulled one out. Rats, foiled again. Played with it for a second and then bought it. Kershaw hit another home run with this knife. (Although I personally don't like HUGE pocket clips.) It's a solid feeling knife with a useful bladeshape thats fun to open. Boom. First purchase at a show I didn't want to spend any cash at at the first table I stopped at.

So I usually like to make an initial quick pass through the room to see where I need to go back to or, if something really pops, pick it up but having my girlfriend with me who had never been to a show was slowing me down. As a girl who likes jewelry and shiny stuff in general she wanted to stop in front of all the tables that had shiny stuff on them and point at something while asking if I'm interested in it. So then the makers ears perk up and I have to re-explain to her that I'm not into Gentleman's knives, I'm into dull Ti handles and mostly non Damascus blades. Boring stuff to her when there were plenty of shiny knives to be had.

I eventually get through the whole thing so it's time to go back to go back and go through a little slower and look at some of the stuff that interested me. The only thing that really did stick out for me was a Yuna Hard Series framelock folder on Moore's table so I went back and talked with Gary for a while and groped the Yuna. I'm not huge on the super pointy butt but it's a really comfy knife in the forward grip, I dig forward choils, and it has a ZPD blade to boot. Me wanty and the price was right.

Then as I'm standing there waiting for Gary to figure out his new CC machine I see some cool Surefire flashlights and battery cases so I had to get one of each of those too. You know, to go with all my other flashlights.

I get paid up and figure I just blew all the cash I should so I split. Before I started whipping out empty Credit Cards.:o

Anywho here's some pics of my haul:
