I appologize if this steps on toes and may even be in the wrong forum. Trying to get a guesstimate on the value of this knife.

Thanks Ron

The MS stamp is rare on a Bagwell, but a Southern Bowie in that condition would probably bring less than $1K.

I think Bill bailed out of the ABS right after his MS. That must be an old bowie. Bernard Levine has a forum here. He should know but I'd get more than one opinion.

I believe it to be fairly old and the sheath might not be one of Bill's unless it was made before he started stamping them with his Bagwell stamp. A knife like it with a stag handle I believe Bill gets around 1600 today. But I think Bladeandbarrel is about right in my opinion. It is a great knife and you are lucky to have it. My avatar is a Bagwell Hell's Belle

I love those old Bagwell, John M Smith, Crowell, Bowies. They just have a classic "warmth" about them. Since its already been used/sharpened/carried, I would continue to enjoy using & carrying it. Sure you might get some decent $ from a Bagwell collector, but finding another to replace it will be extremely difficult.
