Yes sir That is a Bagwell Hell's Belle with signature stamp and matching sheath with stamp. Very nice. Is it yours and what are the dimensions.

Excellent Marsus, that is one sweet Hell's Belle... Yes wondering what the dimensions are and the type of wood on handle.

 is that a crack in the handle I see??

Marsus I got some info on the knife .. It was made about 10 years ago and the handle is Black Locust. There looks to be a crack in it. The knife might have been originaly owned by a Leo Peters or Laci Szabo. It is funny i was talking to Laci a few months ago and he was telling me how years ago he sold his HB and how he regreted it. Bill is friends with Laci and spent time in France with him and also I believe spent some time with him at Keating Riddle of Steel outtings. If this was Laci's knife this knife might of ended up in France. Blade should be around 12 inches or so. I hope this helped.

Thanks Joe you have been of great help! The blade is of 11,5 inches, these names I already know them,Leo Peters has seen him photographed under the Duelling Oaks in the pages of the book of Bagwell "Bowies,Big Knives And The Best Battle Blades",this book is exceptional as Bill Bagwell and your bowies-The other name I have met him in this book or in others or blade magazine-
Thanks still:thumbup:

yes, is a crack in the handle, the wood is always in movement and in the hard woods it is normal this-and then I like the cracks ,they remember me a thing:D

Marsus,

Good looking Belle!! Back end of the coffin handle looks to have the slight bevel on the points that Bill puts there (or used to) for serious users, so it could very well be Laci's. Length is about right. Laci has been to most of the Riddles, as well as the first Bowie Instructor course and the New Orleans Riddle (Bowie specific) along with Bill and myself. Dueling Oaks picture with Leo was taken then. Just saw Leo at the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot last October - nice surprise!!

MARSUS,

Congrats on an awesome piece!

This one looks very much like one I handled at a knife show in Texas just 2 months ago... I wanted to buy it, but had already spent more than my allotment when I saw it. How did you find it? The dealer I spoke with had a few more Bagwells, including one very nice large traditional bowie style.

Of course, this one may be different than the one I saw, but it had the same handle with the same crack, lol.

Again, congrats on a nice piece!

SCORE!!! Thanks for sharing. I was just talking to a maker this weekend and saying I wanted to see a original Bagwell Helles Belle. Very nice.
