on with the show. When in Juneau, Alaska, we visited all the shops we could looking for artwork and jewellery. One store we entered had a lot of carved ivory and knives by David Mirabile.
I spoke with the owner and learn she was Davids wife and owned the gallery and did the carving. We mentioned the knife shows we attend at which point she told us that David was going to be at Blade West followed by the BAKCA show.
David does a lot of work with mammouth ivory and has a unique style that certainly was popular with the judges.
here is a sample
and one more?
at any knife show,
there is a lot of "take look"
A crowd favorite as well as judges favorite is Scott Slobodian who is best know for his oriental work
of swords and lots of tantos too
and some more a bit larger
but in addition to those he had a terrific damascus Bowie
time for another from the Malaysian collection
