I wanted to say thanks to Jeff Pelz and Randy Morgan for getting me down to the BAKCA show and for their amazing hospitality.

It's a rare scene to find show promoters that are so good to the makers at their show and so concerned about how the makers are doing.

THANK YOU!!!

I had a great time! It was a really fun show and even better being set up next to my friends. There was a pretty strong collection of "pounders" gathered there, which I understand has not always been the case.

I can't quite remember who all the awards went to. Maybe somebody can list them. I do know my good friends Tom Ferry, Mike Vagnino, Jim Rodebaugh, and Bill Ruple all came away with awards.

Jason Tiensvold and his wife Dawnette made a long treck out west to come to the show and Jason had some exquisite knives. I also got to meet the infamous Larry Chew and hang out with him and my other friends at Knuckles.

I rode down there with the Bybee family and Tom Ferry, and it was good times. I think it will be even better next year! :D

Nick

I know w/o pics my thread here is pretty weak...maybe somebody else can help out

I concur................the whole club is great, the place is really nice, and it is one of the most relaxed and well attended shows going, been trying to get back up there but my schedule hasnt allowed it, Randy and Jeff are two of the best. :p

Hey! Don't ferget about me!

Actually, Nick and I just met at this show so I can't say much. He can take some abuse from us old timers though, so he's alright in my book :-)

Did I mention that he can make a hell of a knife?

Dan

Dan, I didn't forget you and your awesome blades, I just knew I'd botch your last name! :D It was good to meet you and I'm looking forward to many more shows together. Dan was set up with Scott Taylor right next to me.

Hopefully he can get some pics on here of the work he's doing!

Oh, and by the way Dan..."Yes, you can hav'a da chock-O-lot" "And yes, we only got da vanilla" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I am sorry to say I did not get around to meet and greet DURING the show. I made a big effort to really stay behind my table (or at least very close to it) and was only away from my table for a total of 12 minutes during show hours. This was good for business but kinda' sucked for meeting the makers there.

I know Les Robertson gave a seminar, but without anybody to sell my stuff for me I couldn't step away from my table. Maybe someone can do a recap?

Thanks again everyone!
Nick

Hello Nick
It was great to see you haven't lost your boyish good looks and charm! I agree with you that we had a great show thanks to the BAKCA members that participated in making this a memorable event. I definitely don't want to forget to thank the show attendees that purchased our knives. Hope to see all of you at the next knife show.

Nick - now I have to get down to that show next year!

BTW, what is a "pounder"? My first guess was someone trying to beat makers down on their prices.

This was by far the best knife show I've ever attended. Great venue and the BAKCA Club Members were first rate. I'll be doing it again next year, forsure.......
