Hi, I am new here and glad I found this forum, I have wanted to throw knives all my life bt never got to now I am. I picked up a pair of cheap knives, then found out about no spin throwing the ones I got are made for spin throwing. Question, if I drilled out the holes in the handle would that make the knife more blade heavy. it balances right in the middle. I drew a line where the balance point is: here is a picture of it thanks

I asked similar questions when I started and have found that the balance is fine on these as they are. Technique matters but as someone said on the forum the other day and as I was told two years ago, if you learn to throw no-spin, you can throw about anything. I started out weighting the handles a bit as "Thorn" style suggests 60/40 type balance but found that longer and heavier is more important. Now everything I throw is center balanced. If you have questions e-mail or message me and I'll give you some hints one -on-one.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, I tried to PM you but I can't just joined yesterday and I can't find my post thanks Mike

These would be fine for no spin. Once you generally master the no spin technique it all comes together with the muscle memory and release point.

I am playing around and throwing a 12" Tramotina machete here so the balance point is way forward, but you just adjust release point kind of mentally more than physically. After a while you just get the feel for it. it just takes a lot of practice.

i pretty much gave up on the knives I have for no spin, they have a point on each side at the end of the handle, I can't hold them right because of that. tonight I am going to order a set of cold steel mini throwers, I can't wait
