Balance.

There haven't been enough full size Balance models to get a concensus on that yet.

Thanks munk. I have been leaning toward the WWII as a first purchase, but the Balance has peaked my intrest as a more lively multipurpose blade. How long has the Balance been offered by HI?

For years, but it was only recently, (credit where credit is due dept) that Norm and another forumite suggested a full size Balance model.

I like mine. IT swings neat.

The Bura BDC was also made full size, and that's something I'd requested and wanted for a long time. For some dumb reason, I did not then look around at other pint size projects and ask them to be enlarged. But others did, and the Balance was a natural. I'm very glad it is here.

I think it will become a favorite.

How does the Balance compare in strength and speed to the Sirupati or GS?

LizzardBone the as forged Chainpuri blade I bought from Uncle Bill so long ago now turned out to be a "Balance" model.
What a "Balance" model khukuri does is balance on its edge a ways in front of the cho.
It's a good idea to balance the knife on a dowel rod or something similar if it has any weight to it at all and if it is very sharp as the weight and sharpness would let it balance past the flesh on a finger all the way down to the bone.;)
My as forged Chainpuri turned out to be a balance model because I took artistic license with it and rounded off the angle on the spine and took enough off the edge to match the curve.
It's about the same as a Sirupati of the same size and just as strong and maybe faster. It turned out to be pure weapon rather than a good wood chopper but that didn't upset me any as I have plenty of users. :D
I'll see if I can bring the pic up on this post, it's pretty small but you can get an idea anyway.

Thank you for the knowlege. The Balance shown on the Deals for 8/07 has become the source of the new voice in my head............... and it wont stop arguing with the WWII and GS!

Thanks again.

The only easy day was yesterday.
