Hey,is the BM42 balanced enough to throw with the edge landing on the target?

Originally, balisong are not designed to be thrown. The interty center is located at the first tier of the handle (see the measures in the Anatomy section of www.balisong.net).

But we have specialists of knife throwing in this forum and they might tell I'm wrong

it's certainly throwable, I just highly dont suggest throwing a BM42. And i'd say there's about a 1/3 chance of it sticking

It is silly to throw anything not designed to be thrown except perhaps in an emergency. I know bali's are strong, but if you think they are strong enough for throwing, try this...

1. Drive the point into wood as hard as you can, then slap the knife sideways and see if the tip survives... A throwing knife commonly experiences this kind of torque...

2. Hold your bali by the blade and slap the handle against a table top as hard as you can. This is what will happen when you miss your throw and the knife over-spins...

If this sort of slamming and banging doesn't bother you, then by all means go ahead and throw it!

Buy el cheapo bali and throw it
That way when it breaks you arent out much

I like throwing knives, they're quiet.
