My variable speed, 1.5 h.p. Baldor grinder motor quit running. It is only three years old and sees only moderate use as a hobbyists machine. It has to be something simple, and there is juice to the fuse in back which tests okay. Any ideas? Thanks.

You might also test the receptacle to make sure you are getting voltage. Check the plug, then the motor switch. If everything checks out OK, then take the motor in and have it tested, Sometimes the internal switch can go bad.
Good luck.

Mine conked out on me once and I thought I was dead in the water till I started looking it over and noticed a funny looking red button on the side of it. I figured why not and pushed the button in and the motor came back to life. It was the heat overload switch.Man did I feel like a moron! Does your motor have one on it? Also, if you have a compressor or a strong vacuum cleaner, blast out the motor good to make sure theres no steel dust up in the windings.
