You, sir, have shown some despicably hog-like tendencies in the months you've been lurking here, but now it's time to come clean. We all know your first love is the balisong, so why don't you pick some of your favorite Busses and balis, and pair them up for pics.

Be sure to give us a little background on each of the balis so those of us who aren't as experienced can learn a little bit. Oh, and that satin/tiger BETTER be paired with a nice Jodi Samson blade.

RIP Jodi, one of the original lords of the modern Balisong. I hope your sleep is a peaceful one.

He doesn't really have any Balis, its all a part of being in stealthhog mode.

hmmm, I can do that, being a closet bali fanatic as well. :o

Well, what are you waiting for Dwayne? I would post pics of mine, but they're all BM's and everyone's seen those before. Show us whatcha got, brother. Then maybe George will come through and post some Marlowes, Dobis, and Master J's.

Would love to see yours, leatherman. Jason, I know what you're up to. You think that seeing pics of knives will help you cope with the wait for the SFNOLE. At this point, you'll really just try anything to distract you from the wait. I know how it feels . . . the alternating between excitement and anxiety, the need for more and more distractions . . . not even the bottle works any more! Or maybe its just Sunday and you're drunk and you wanna see pics of your ol' tiger Saber. I'll see what I can do. If the 6-month old gives me a rest, I'll try to dust off the bottom of the safe ;). And I don't know about this stealthhog business, lol. I feel like I've been the slobbering and stumbling over myself hog. Being a new Hog is like a kid at the candy store. I'm sure it'll even out soon . Yeah right, that's what we keep tellin' oursleves . . .

.

Well, I have only three Balis, but I like them a lot. I'm not a flipper, but like them as just another way to fold a knife.

From top to bottom:

Busse Culti
Busse Heavy Active Duty
Modified sheepsfoot balisong by Balibalistic (Shawn Greacen)
Busse Satin Jack
Marlowe Badger with Damasteel blade
Busse SH Badger
Marlowe Badger with 154cm blade

Wow! Now there's a man who knows his knives. I'm not sure I can do any better than that. Satisfied, Jason? No, of course not. :D

Two Marlowe's and one of Shawn's? It would appear Ducci knows more than just classic Busses. Nice knives, brother.

And no, George, it doesn't satisfy me at all! Now get to work.:D

OK here are a few. You guys know the Busses so I'll focus on the balis.

The top knife is a Marlowe IKBS Talwar with carbon fiber latch

Below that is a little BB flat-clip bowie. 3.5" blade, tan G-10. Sterile. His #03 bali ever made.

Under that is an early Jody Samson ground Bali-Song, Inc. custom weehawk with stainless handles and black micarta inserts. 2 details suggest it it is an early piece, 1) The narrow grind is more like Jody's own early weehawks, the later weehawks began to grow bellies. 2) There is no (R) by the butterfly stamp. While not definitive by itself, it is one clue to be considered, as the (R) was used more often later in the company's history.

Top knife in this pic is a rare Bali-Song, Inc. weehawk-tanto made in the more uncommon ATS-34 (a more expensive non-standard option) and beautiful ironwood inserts. Stamped ATS-34 on the spine.

Below that is a BB weehawk. His #6 bali made. Sterile

Last is a Mauricio Dobruski scimitar with ivory micarta inserts.

This pic sports a 29 Knives (Chris Olofson) weehawk-tanto with rosewood split inserts.

The knife below it is a rare 3" Samson-ground custom Bali-Song, Inc. weehawk. The blade is signed (carved) by Jody himself, as the next pic shows.

Below that is a Marlowe clip-point from the old days of his bali making. This one is channel construction, which I prefer, before he switched to sandwich construction and IKBS. Has his old maker's mark.

In this last pic, below the Sarsquatch, is an early classic Bali-Song, Inc. Imada High Hollow. Martial artist and movie choreographer Jeff Imada helped design Bali-Song, Inc.'s early balisongs, and lent credibility to their balisong construction when the company was first getting on its feet. He designed this high-hollow bowie, which became known as the Imada High-Hollow. Mr. Imada produced 2 books on the balisong, which are still available, and informative reads on the scene in the '80s. This one has brown micarta inserts over brass.

Below the Marlowe is a Dobruski weehawk-tanto with white micarta inserts.

Very nice!! You have some nice ones BaliHogger! Mine arent all that special, but I do need to sit and take a few pics of what I do have.

Randucci, That damascus bali is wonderful!

See...THAT's what I was looking for. Beautiful knives, George, and a great follow-up to Ducci's two beautiful badgers. I'm very happy to see Shawn's great work right in there with the masters. At the rate he is improving, his maker's mark will be highly sought after in years to come.

Thanks for the pic fellas. Now we're just waiting for Dwayne to get some pics. As for me, the most special Bali I have is a pristine 43ap I picked up in a trade. The rest are standard fare: 42 springlatch, 46bk, 47bk, 32, and my edc 32bk. I need to pick up a basilisk, and Mad Dog has a Tsunami with my name on it.

I have all the production balis I want, besides a user 43 and maybe a Szabofly, so my focus will turn to custom balis...specifically Shawn's.

By the way, there are three very nice Dobruski's...one with a tanto blade (project Charlie, I believe) on the exchange.
