balisong carry

I also carry mine horizontally either in an older Benchmade sheath or, of late, in an Xtreme Concealex Sheath. But, I prefer mine right on the side of my hip.

I tried to carry mine on the hip but I ran into 2 major problems. For one, my knife when closed is almost as long as my I am wide (front to back) so it doesn't stay concealed very well. Secondly, my body, like most peoples is curved on the side, and my knife like most peoples is pefectly straight. This leads to MAJOR comfort problems and since my hip is also bony, the knife presses on the bone everytime I move.

Thats why I went to front center, my stomach area is flat and straight, there is no bone in the immediate area, and the first belt loop stops the sheath from coming with the knife when I draw it out.

Currently I'm carrying a PC 259 tucked away in the back pocket. That has become my standard now for carrying a balisong.

When I was playing with my 42, I had it either in the BM or Xtreme Concealex sheath horizontal across my back, or in an Xtreme Concealex neck sheath, all depending on the situation and how I was feeling that day.

I carry my 42 in my 3rd pocket (the small pocket above the right hand side front pocket in jeans), it's great, when I draw forward it auto-pops the latch and I'm good to go.

Around the house I carry mine in an X Concealex neck sheath but if I'm out and about the I use the horizontal belt rig(also X Concealex).

Do or do not...there is no try.

My new favorite carrying method is my
X-Treme Horizontal Concealex rig with Tek-Lok made by Clay for my BM-42.This rig Rocks!!!!!If you don't have one yet,do yourself a favor and buy one.

X-treme inverted V. Of course it is illegal to carry balisong knives in any manner in Missouri!

Question to whom it may concern...

Which is better, a benchmade sheath on the hip horizontally or an xtreme sheath horizontally on the hip?

I gotta say the X-treme on the belt is much better than the pouch on the belt. It is alot more secure, you can take it off without removing your belt, it fits larger belts, won't tear, and allows for quick access since there is no flap to get in the way.

I saw in the Balisong Manual, Jeff Imada carrying it around his ankle...It's pretty tite. But I cant find one like that...like that comes with the strap.

I usually carry my 42 in the new Benchmade sheath that came with it horizontally on my right side behind my back in the kidney position.

I find it a comfortable way to carry except when fighting. I carry mine around the house and I usually spar with it on and I've fallen on my back on it. It hurts.

Anyway I really want an Inverted V and was just wondering why only one person said he/she uses it.

Are there any major problems or things about the Inverted V that I should know about?

Or do you guys just don't think it's cool...

Right now, I'm using a Mini-Mag sheath on my side. I too think that the flaps on the ones that come with the 42, and the ones I have bought elsewere, get in the way. When I do use one, it goes in the back over by back pocket.

When I get my 42, and it gets worn a little (the blue finish), I will get one of Clays neck sheaths. A horizontal gets covered up too easy, and is then concealed. In VA, if its over 3", you cant conceal it.

With a neck sheath, i could put it on over anything, even a thick coat in winter. Cold Bali, eek, maybe not!
