Hi,
Awhile back someone posted a link to the patent for Benchmade's butterfly knives. Does anyone still have it? It had alot of great drawings and dimensions.

Thanks

Well Dude, it's like $75.00 bucks [to join] just to see the scans in the patent. I'm not kickin' on you at all.

Hey, I saved those web pages on my computer, I have (I think) all the ones pertaining to BM/PC's patents on the balisong.

If you got'em Brotherman, send them on down the line to me please.

I looked at the U.S. Patent Office Site, they have a funky Tiff File Pic and it says I have to download a Viewer because I do not have that (even though my scanner scans in Tiff and I convert to Jpg) and I am reluctant to download things like that as it tends to change the paths of files if you do not do it right.

I'll tell you something though, for High-Speed KnifeNuts like us, there is a wealth of valuable information in there, Emerson's Wave Patent is in there, Anthony Marfione [MicroTech] his Spring Sheath is in there, and that is a Halo by the description.

I never thought you could Patent Switchblades, I guess he can for two reasons, one, he's in Florida and when he did it, they were legal and; two, it's listed as something like a "Spring Sheath" or Spring-driven Sheath or something, which I thought was rather neat.

If anyone has the capability to just go to the site and just download the pages of descriptions, drawings/pictures, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'll find them if you download them and send them on...

If anyone has pictures or documents of the balisong patents I would really like a copy.

I recently deleted those files, however, I did take the time to copy them some time ago. If anyone cares for copies feel free to email me and I'll ship 'em out to ya!

Go to: http://164.195.100.11/netahtml/srchnum.htm

(a sub-site of the US Patent And Trademark Office site).

Enter the patent number (4364174, in this case).

And you get a link to the patent (I'm not posting it here, since it's a long link, and will cause a 'scrolling screen of death'

).

In the top menu area, there is a link to 'Images'. The image section requires a viewer to view the Tiff images (Netscape is unable to view Tiff images, as of the release of my version, anyway). The 'help' menu at the top of the page has a link to such a viewer.

Also, please note that searches expire, so it is better to keep a link to the search page, and a a list of patent numbers, since a bookmarked patent page should not last any longer than 2 hours, and often lasts less.

Yes, that is the page I found, along with others, but once you get to the MS Site, there is not a whole hell of alot of info as to exactly what you need...

Which is sort of wacky as my PC can view a Tiff file as the scanner scans to Tiff instantly...

If anyone downloads a viewer let me know if it works.

I'm using Internet Explorer and the QuickTime Plug-In will let me view it but not the complete page and it won't let me print it.

Damn!
