Hi

After I pay my taxes :grumpy: and recoup some money I am going to shop around for a good balisong for utility purposes.

I used to have a benchmade with a three or so inch blade, milled steel handles, and a flat ground blade. I seem to have lost it somewhere in my travels. I don't remember the model but it was purchased in 95 or 96.

well, I want to replace it with a similar knife. I'm looking for something smaller, 3 to 3.5 inches, flat ground, with steel handles and a clip. is a balisong like this made by benchmade?

I don't want to break down and by a sh*tty frost or jaguar, I'd prefer to stay with benchmade, if possible.

thanks guys, ahead of time, for the input.

Peter

I think the BM31 has a clip. 3 inch blade with titanium handles. It's going to be pretty hard to find because it's no longer made :(

EDIT:
The SS one with clip is BM31-03. Good luck finding one!

If you're lucky you can find a 35 or 31 for around $150. I recently picked up a mint 35-SPL in the exchange. :D

The other option is to spend ~300 on one of the recent limited edition models.

edit... make that ~400. Yowsa.

check out microtechs.

or the cold steel arc-angels, but they're in carbon V, which i'm not a big fan of.

Benchmade 31 is your best bet. Might take some searching to find one.

I'd prefer SS handles over the Ti myself, but the SS handled 31-03 is rather pricy (might as well commission a custom). However, the Ti handles are still fine for carry use (just don't expect to be doing many tricks). The blade is an extremely useful flat ground utility clip point. And of course, there's the pocket clip.
