Hi! I thought I would introduce myself and ask for a little help!
Im a knife collector. And, by knife collector, but I collect knifes more like a child collects rocks. If its neat looking and unique, I want it. Most my collection, which is probably a lot smaller then many of yours, came from traveling to various places (the orient, mostly, but also all around Europe). Lately I pulled out a knife I purchased in the orient for cheap, a butterfly knife. Youll probably laugh, but I saw a movie where a gentleman pulled out a butterfly/balisong knife and started flipping it around and doing all kinds of neat moves with it. So, I decided I wanted to learn too. Haha. I searched the web and have been reading a number of websites to get me familiar with the techniques. Im not master, but I can do enough now to impress myself. I plan on getting a lot better though. Its fun and an exercise of sorts. Mind, body, if that makes sense.
Here is a picture of my knife case:
Here is a picture of some others I have around the house (more swords then anything else):
Here is the balisong I have been learning with:
I have a few questions. First, I have a feeling my balisong is not of real good quality (maybe someone could let me know). I bought it in the orient real cheap so I wasn't expecting it to be a gem... I got it because it was neat looking (like always, haha). It seems to be loosening with practice. Is that normal? Is it going to break? How can I tighten it? Im sure by searching these forums I will find some of those, if not all, the answers. But, this was meant to be more of an introduction more then anything else. If you guys have a chance to answer my questions, that would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a picture of the play in the handles. It is out of focus, because I'm retarded with a camera, but it does the job:
In addition to being a knife collector of sorts, Im a full time redneck. I love guns (Smith & Wesson and H&K are my favorite brands), trucks and knifes.
Hope you all had a good Thankgivin!
