you all know the unique clicking sound the balisong makes; well what if you were to have certain manipulations timed just right so as to form a beat? I'm trying to put something together right now, but the problem i'm finding is that i'm doing the same move over and over.

you could come up with some pretty cool stuff though, if you got it down right.
has anyone attempted this?

Clay's sound bites of his double balis might be a start. Try using two knifes.

Clay is a musician, a drummer, and it really comes through in his balisong manipulations.

I'm actually a Bassist, but I did quite a bit of my "groove study" with one of the country's finest Latin percussionists.

Don't worry about the repetitive movements in your Bali routines. What you want to do is get a feel for the constant motion, and the timing.

It's not as easy as it sounds. If you practice it to music you'll see just how often you go out of time.............. and timing is everything.

I was actually just messing with bali-percussion the other day. It IS very hard to get right. Manipulations are all about timing, as is music. But they don't often agree. You'll find, as you said, you're forced into doing the same move again and again. The only good sounding run at it I ever had, was really slowing down the bali, and using it more for melody than rythm. Keep trying though. I'd love to hear someone who had better luck at it than I.

Now, a whole chorus of bali's... that would sound great.
