Nice pieces, they look very clean. The first bali looks very similar to a 45 though.

demic, the blade on the BM44 is called the 'tanto' blade.

The top knife is a 45 as far as I know. I guess that it is an earlier model because there are some differences in it and the 44. The handles are more rounded on the numbered piece, the blade edge is ground all the way, where on the 44 it stops about 1/4" from the end of the grind. Also on the 44 the bali song logo and the Benchmade U.S.A logos on the blade are not stamped like on the 45. Also the most obvious thing is that the 45 is numbered.
I got the 44 near the end of the production run, so there may have been some changes.
Obviously my bali song knowledge is lacking, so any help would be appreciated.

Sabo, the 44 is very nice. It is one of my favorites, but it does not have the balance of the 45. It is pretty noticeable when you manipulate them.

Notice the shorter handles on the #'ed 45. She's just like mine. Wonder how many were made?
