I taped a movie last week on HBO and didn't have a chance to watch it until today. It was the movie "payback" with Mel Gibson.
The scene was where MG is grabbed by a bunch of chinese men, one's that MG robbed for a bunch of cash, and the put him on top of their car and spread his leg's open. Then one of the guys steps up with his bali and starts his manipulation, just a standard opening(which of course looks flashy to the untrained eye),and steps up to MG like he's going to cut off his unmentionable's,when all of a sudden a couple of undercover cops show up to save MG.
I tried to make out what bali the guy was using and it was either one of the chrome colored jag's w/skelatonized handles or the BM-239.But then again it could of been a CC cause there's been other bali's made with this style handle to copy the BM-239,if i'm correct.
Not a big deal,I just thought i'd post this cause it's bali related.....peace

I specifically rented Big trouble in little China last night to see the Jeff Imada scene everyone here mentions. What a mistake! I watched the whole movie through because I couldn't believe the brief 1 second clip of Jeff at the beginning was all there was. Good lord what a completely sh1tty movie that was! I was so depressed afterwards, sitting through it and wasting a good 2 hours of my life

Showdown in Little Toyko was much better to sit through, and a much better balisong scene imo.

But Payback was pretty good. I lucked out recently and was able to buy the dvd for about $8 at Fry's here in CA.

Sorry to hear you didn't care for Big Trouble in Little China, I love that movie! (I've had my DVD preorder in at Amazon since I first heard it was scheduled for DVD release.) It's definitely a tongue-in-cheek comedy, overdone and nothing but fun ... but I can appreciate that not everybody cares for that.

Actually, while short, the Jeff Imada balisong scene at the airport was over 10 seconds long (hope your copy wasn't edited)

and I agree with 2Sharp's recent post that Kurt Russell's reaction to it is just too cool: "What? ... where'd you get that"

IMO, Kurt Russell was great in this movie, and the early bali scene helped set the tone and tempo of the movie.

Y'all obviously aren't reading my movie review page or you'd know that after the opening scene of Big Trouble, you can just rewind.

Really? It seemed so brief to me. Hmm, maybe the movie was edited. Yeah, next time I'll reference Gollnick's movie page. I understand the love/hate thing about movies though. My girlfriend absolutely hates the 'Austin Powers' movies with a passion. And ofcourse, I love em
