alot of you think that a butterfly knife is only as strong as your grip. BUt i

believe you are wrong. if you clamp the blade and don't hold the handles

together you can still put tons of weight on the safe handle. the same

concept goes for cutting. if you just hold the bite handle you can still cut. in

either one of these senarios the onlt way for the knife to fail is if the handle

blade or pins literally snap.

does anyone agree with me? anyone disagree?

please disscuss because im very interested on this subject.

Im not really sure but when I first got into Balisongs I was under the impression they were just another tool. And I would still think that but the fact that laws get worse and balisong production slowed down makes me weary to use one as a tool. The 42 is very strong, I just prefer since they barely have them in production to keep it for flipping.

That makes sense, but why would you be putting that much force on a balisong in the first place?

I have a Bradley mayhem bali, S30V blade, titanium handles, I love it. Carry and use it every day.

I've never seriusly abused it, but I truely think that it is VERY durrable for a "folder", I'd put it up against about any pocket knife.

I agree except "tons of weight" might be a little bit of an exaggeration.

I don't know anyone who thinks a bali is as strong as one's grip. It's the pins and construction that make a bali strong, not a person' grip.

I have never broken a bali, nor had one fail and I have abused alot when I was a kid, I have however not been thinking and flipped one open only to cut a nice gash in my fingers, but I will say due to design I think they are more of a stabbing knife rather than a cutting knife, but that just MHO
