Balisong transportation

I'll be returning from the Philippines soon, and I wasn't able to find much on the transportation of balisongs (and knives in general) into the US. I will be flying into CA, and I know they're not very friendly to knives in general. As best I can tell, using USPS is a big no-no. Anything I should know?
