is it worth getting the balisong video tapes or books? Does anyone have any they can sell to me? Or can they make me a copy of their tape? Thanks

Making copies of video tapes would be illegal but loaning out the original tape would be legal. I think community video tapes is a cool idea. Have a waiting list and when one person is done viewing the tape, he sends it to the next person on the list. But that would require alot of trust and honesty.

BaliLover, great idea. As for little chaozu's question, 'are balisong videos/books worth buying?' Well, I assume you're wanting to learn some bali manipulations. If so, check out Clay's website, as well as balisong.com (for videos on bali manipulations) before you spend money buying tapes or books. Why not? It doesn't cost a thing.

But if someone is willing to send around their tape(s) to people on a waiting list, then go for it - I'm game.

There's an extensive list of balisong-related books and videos on my site:

Clay's site has a lot of video file that you can view on your PC and they're great. But, some of the available training videos are very good and have the advantages of higher resolution, better motion, and a bigger picture. Especially for a beginner, the advantages of a video tape may be important.

I will only reitterate that copying copyrighted material is not only illegal, but it is unethical. If you put a lot of money and effort into making something, you wouldn't want others to steal your work, so don't steal theirs.

Speaking of stealing... Keep thinking W!

Ok, point taken about the copyrighting thing, but, if you're talking about a strictly legal stand point; I know bali's are legal in NY but not the Bronx. So if I already broke one law, why not another??? Hmm, maybe I shouldn't take a standpoint of condoning copyright infringment. I'm really a morally correct person, really!

Owning a Balisong doesn't steal money from anyone, copying their film/video however does because you no longer need to pay them $20 for the video. For every person that does it, they lose $20.

There's no need for an apology, no one was accusing you of anything or judging your character. Your original idea is a fairly common one and is almost accepted by the majority. I know dozens of people that rent video's and make copies. I just don't think people should appologize unless they hurt or insult someone else. You did neither.

I'm willing to rotate my video, "Mastering the balisong knife". It's not bad, and there's plenty of cool manuevers in it. But, there's only one slow motion shot of Janich doing an aerial.

I'd like to check out Imada's videos, if anyone has this video and wants to borrow mine for theirs, great. Even better if we could a bunch of videos together for rotation.
