Balisong W. I. P.

Daniel! That is SO nice!
When you are ready to mill a piece of G10 for the handles, lmk. I'll have you stick a Tanto blade in there... CG of course.

Sounds great!

Boy... you better start a new balisong thread, Daniel!!!
:D

I'll be making more for certain! I'm waiting on some screws right now and I'll have the first one finished soon! :D

Much appreciated! It has been a bunch of fun and I have learned a lot. I look forward to many more!

Guys, I'm tellin ya... you want one balisong in your rotation. For a practical EDC, no dancing for me, a balisong is hard to beat. Your hand never touches the blade and you have one of the strongest locks ever, your grip, and one that won't wear out. My BM53 is carried by me often.

I bet, simplicity goes a really long ways... in many ways the balisong is a perfect design.

My wife has an ancient flea market balisong with the pot metal handles. The tolerances on it are terrible and I don't even think there are washers but there is no bladeplay while open or closed, that is genius! I can't wait to see what a precision one will do!

I like that the blade doesn't have to be touched to open. I remember being up on an icy roof trying to open a Buck 110 once, I think I nearly fell off!

Good morning guys! Going to be a hot day today, 84 on the high

I hope it was a good one! The snow was melting like crazy here, my driveway was nearly a stream!

WOT??!!^
Daniel- Stay of roofs.
Rolf
:D

Lol I still hurt from the last fall!

That was a few winters back, I helped a neighbor build a porch roof in February! Talk about gnarly, we used a blowtorch to melt the ground for post holes!

WHOA!
When I used to paint my barn roof, I used chicken-ladders. Have you heard of these? I highly recommend them!

I just looked them up, good call!

I got talked into the whole roof job, it was a pro job and my neighbor (contractor) needed a helper. We shoveled roofs together that winter earlier and that actually was pretty cool.

We had to tie these porches we built into the main roof, it was sort of tricky with it cold. The other two guys who were used to the roofing both fell off!

This was on the reservation where we did the work for a Ute Policewoman, I learned a lot about Ute tribal culture. Wild stuff beyond belief!

Interesting stuff, Daniel. I'm glad you are now a knife maker. :D
Yep, the American Indians have it going on. Have you read anything from Vine Deloria Jr. Get on it! Start with Red Earth, White Lies.

Yes I am very glad! I had my own business going back then selling lapidary materials but for some odd reason thought construction might be fun to learn on the side. lol I was wrong! I do like building stuff here though...

I have not read that book, I'll have to check it out if I get a chance. My place is just north of a massive reservation, Tony Hillerman's books are sometimes set in my location.

I'm a good part Cherokee, my grandmother even spoke the language. We were looking through family photos and it was wild to see!

Neat. You are a good dude Daniel. Follow the wisdom of the old Indian ways and of Self-realized people.
I will email you some time and we can chat about this.
