After a week of work, the revision of balisongfans.com is complete and the site is back online. I rebuilt the site from the ground up with the future in mind. This is the last time I will have to close the site to make big updates. From now on, additions to the site will be very quick and painless.

The most notable update is Club Balisong. Many of you had expressed interest in a balisong club so here it is. Your feedback is encouraged. There are already a few members and as membership grows, we can add more features and benefits.

Enjoy the site and thanks for your time!

Ditto everything Dave just said. I think the site is outstanding and I am proud to be on it as well.

Is it a national or international club? EDIT I should have visited the site again, it answered my first question...

And the first rule rules me out "Obey you local laws", although I tend to "bend" the laws a little, not break them (I never carry my balisongs outside my house)

C'mon now people, send in your profiles !
And please add your picture, I want to see hoe wou all look like! ;-)

And Payback, maybe you should add a "Add Profile" link to the Profiles page, because it's not very clear that you have to go to the "Contributions" page to add your profile?

That one rules me out too, for the same reason as BaliDude.

I am very happy to hear that everyone approves of the site. I tried many different looks and structures before I decided on this one.

Of course the site is international. I will replace the picture of the U.S. on the profiles page as soon as I find a good image of Earth.

I highly encourage pictures. I will get a picture of myself up as soon as I get my camera to work with my computer again.

I added a "Submit your profile" link on the profile page. Thanks for the suggestion Gigante. It is a very good idea.

While I have your attention, let me ask you guys a few questions. If you are on a phone modem, how is the load time? If you are on 800 by 600 resolution, how does the page fit on your screen? Does the blue border of the site line up all the way around? It should look like one smooth piece.

Your feedback is highly encouraged. Thanks for your support.

PS - How do you like the new logo?

The load times are just fine. I use a 56k dial-up, and I have no problems with your site. Faster than a lot of other sites I frequent, in any case.

In some of the reviews, the left margin of the text is almost at the centerof the screen, cutting off the text. This is the same at my dial up at home 600x800 and from the T1 at work 1024x768.

Very nice site overall.

It loads fine for me on a 33.6 modem, and it fits my 800 x 600 screen.

For those who have mentioned #1 on the "balisong etiquette",the whole list was originally mentioned as a "common sense code of conduct" that we as balisong enthusiasts should *attempt* to follow.
I myself don't always obey the local laws, but I do *try* to,so the intent is there.

The main thing is,these "rules" are just pure common sense, and are necessary to show the general public (and the politicians) that not all who carry or use the balisong are criminals. In this way,we can hopefully get others who aren't enthusiasts onto our side,so that in time we can get the laws changed.
