Well, I'd say he got what he deserved for a couple of reasons.

1. It is never cool to bring a knife to school if your rules forbid it.

2. If you are dumb enough to be showing it around when it's against the rules you deserve to get caught.

This is not to say that I never forgot that I had mine in my pants pocket when I left the house in the morning or picked it up by routine and brought it but I never did it intentionally. When I did accidentally bring it I kept it in my pocket, kept my hand off of it, and did not show it to anyone. If you try to put it in your locker or bag someone is bound to see.

>>Knives + school = big trouble.

I remember when I was in jr high school, I carried a switchblade and a class mate of mine carried a Stiletto. When the teacher saw his knife, she told him it was scary looking & to put it back in his pocket. Mine she said just looked like a regular pocket knife like everyone carried.

Him and I got in a fight one day, because he was playing around and put a dead bee down the back of my shirt. It never occured to us to take out our knives. But what they did was the Gym instructor make us put on these 16 oz boxing gloves and fight it out. Those things were so heavy, that it was not to long before it was all we could do, to hold them up, much less hit each other any more with them. But that was the way they did things back then, it maybe different now. Thanks, JohnR7 www.BalisongKnife.com

I carried a BM Panther and a small SAK all through high school without any trouble at all. Never heard a word from anyone.

Here in college, I have carried a good number of different knives(Paragon AKTO3, BM30&42, AFCK, etc.) and never had a problem. There is just the chance that if you were caught in the wrong place at the wrong time by one of our campus cops, the blade would make it worse than it is. I currently carry my Spydie Viele and G-10 Harpy to cover most of my tasks, then I have a little SAK made by Buck and a Micra when other people are around.

) just remember not to bring it to any frat parties.. ofcourse who woudl suspect an innocent kid liek me to have anything in my pants right?

john's story: it made me cry.. (seriously) people nowadays will probably call such teachers "barbaric" or "uncivilized" - no brother of ine is gonna go to the "time out" corner anytime.

If you play with love you will be heartbroken; if you play with knives you will [bleed]

No one really needs a Bali in School, you can hold off till after school when its um.. legal.

Things may never get better, but they can always get worse.

Balisong's in school ive seen it and the teacher scare the living **** out of my freind but didnt take it . just told him to put it away. it was the damnedst thing i had ever seen becasue he had justyelled at the class idoit for having a keychain knife.

My freind brought his Bali to school today... but in our school any weapon means automatic expulsion i think.

Does anyone live in VA here??? I just started taking an interest in Balisongs and I wanna know the knife laws and some good stores in VA and stuff.

S, no, no one would suspect that you have anything in your pants.

Seriously though, you never know who is carrying what anywhere. I was a 3.9 student and a huge computer freak but I always had something with me or in my car. No one would have guessed my room held a small arsenal.

John,

My high school teachers did the same .. but it was like decades ago .. not sure if the tradition holds up ...

I guess it is good that the teacher lets you vents up all the anger with boxing rather than having you causing inter-class fight after school

Dragon1: maybe you want to look in to a sparring type balisong.. or maybe you could replace the blade with a piece of aluminum or steel. dunno.

Or a bali-comb/multitool.

Maybe I'll just be boring and teach how to fry an egg or tie various knots.

For five minutes...

taking balisong to school is just plain stupid mabye having one in ur car but at school why would u have if u want to scare people u have to show them it and u will get caught u could keep one in ur pocket all the time and not get caught but why would u have one its just extra weight

When I was in eighth grade I was a badass troublemaker & the school administration just hated me (for good reason), but they never caught me doing anything at all, and that made them hate me even more. So one day they brought me to the office with some BS excuse saying they wanted to search me. I knew what I had on me so I said "no way." But then they started talking about the police, and if they had a problem they couldn't handle they would call the police, etc. And that started to scare me, because I knew I could outsmart these dumbass vice principals, but I didn't want to fvck with the police. So I pretended to empty my pockets, backpack, & locker. All they found was a small 1" blade pocket knife. I got kicked out of school for that. What they didn't find on me was the other little pocket knife, OTF, Italian Auto, or spiked brass knuckles. The next day 4 more guys got kicked out for knives. Now I'm a college student, more of a bookworm than a badass, and I only carry knives at school that are legal and don't violate school rules. This leaves me with manual folders under 5". The bali & Sifu (when it shows up) stay at home :) I carry a 710, AFCK, 940, blue inlay Native, CRKT M16-03Z, and/or mini-AFCK. 3 of the above depending on my mood.

I live in Va. I heard that some kid in some state pointed a chicken wing or some form of food at a teacher and said bang, or somthing to that effect. He was suspended for three days! I understand "0 tolerance", and agree, but thats going a bit far. Of course, I was not there, and it could have been meant as a threat. But still, thats harsh.
