I just came across a catalog from 1986 that I received with my first Pacific Cutlery model #10. The catalog is from a company named Know Now. They were in California. On the front of the catalog is a little cartoon of a guy in a "Gi" crying. The caption says "Come and get it before they ban it!"
The catalog only has butterfly knives! Every kind you could get back in those days. Taylors for $8-$24
Frosts for $10-$20.
The Master Pen balisongs for $14.
Compass Industries for $15-25.
Pacific Cutlery International Series(12 different models) for $25.
Pacific Cutlery 10 and 11 for $39.
PC 68 and 69 for $54.
PC 41, 43 and 44 for $69.95 From the picture, it looks like these have exposed pins; even the 44. Strange.
Finally, the granddaddy's . . . The Prestige Series.
PC401, 402 and 403 for $180.00.
The catalog says these were all hand made!
If I only knew then . . . Too bad I was in highschool and had no money.
