Balisongs legal for import to USA?

Hi all,
In New Zealand, balisongs are illegal to import, but OK to be manufactured locally (I've never seen any...)

I've seen the resurgence of balisongs in the USA - are they all locally made (i.e. made in the USA like BM) or are imports of balisongs allowed into the USA again? (to specific states?)

The balisong is still a contriband per the US Customs and therefore are not allowed to be imported into the USA. However, a great amount of bali's made outside the USA still finds it's way to the general consumer, as indicated by all the CCC's and Jaguars Balis being sold. Most of the new production balisong are produced in States where balisong manufacturing and possession are not illegal. BM is in Oregon, the Tachyon is in Florida, SWAT is in Arizona, and Roton (maker of the Monarch) is in Idaho.
