OK, first up is a Parker Custom Series balisong. For those who don't know, the Parker Custom Series is one of the nicest import balisongs from the pre-ban era. It was Parker's flagship balisong. It is made of thick stainless steel handles, and heavy-duty 3/16" thick blade stock, just like the old Benchmade customs. It is stamped "Parker Custom Series" and "Hand Made, Japan."

This one has seen some use, and flipping, but is in good condition and ready for lots more action. It locks up perfectly in the open and closed positions. The handles are not overly loose. The tang cups are a little more worn on one side than the other (not unusual), so the handles sit slightly cocked to the blade (see final picture). This does not affect functionality or flipping.

In short, this is one well-made, heavy duty balisong, and a pretty rare find. You don't see the Custom Series come up for sale very often. Like the Cho-No-Shis, they are rare birds, but very much worth finding one. Put this on in your collection, or flip it and use it. It's ready for either task.

.5" thick handles. 4.25" long blade, 9.25" overall.
Asking $45 shipped.

Stay tuned for a little 3" Taylor gut-hook and a big 5" brass Japanese bali.

Here's a beautiful and uncommon piece by Taylor, another one of the better import balis companies. This is a little guy, measuring in at 6.5" overall, with a 2.8" blade. Sandwich construction, this one features a gut-hook blade, and green (stabilized wood?) handles.

The balisong is in excellent condition. It retains the factory edge. It looks like it may have been lightly carried and very lightly flipped, but I'm tempted to say it really hasn't been used much. The tang cups are not worn down. It locks in the open and closed positions, but only softly.

I haven't seen too many of these by Taylor. and the green handles really make it a classy, uncommon piece. As with most Taylor balis, this one is well built, with thick solid pivot pins, stainless steel bolsters, and brass liners.

Next up is a large Japanese-made brass balisong. This one measures 11" overall with a 5" blade. The balisong is not branded, but is well-built, and similar to others branded by Parker (the Imai series). Many of the 1980's import balis were all made at the same factory and just given different branding for their respective companies. This one features heavy-duty pivot pins, countersunk holes, and a 440 steel blade.

The balisong has seen some use, and flipping, but is in very good condition. The tang cups are slightly more worn on one side than the other, but not by much. The handles are not overly loose. It locks up in the open and closed positions, but softly.

Overall, a nice example of a well-made 80's import, and in a less common large 5" size.
$40 shipped.
