Ball bearing steels

I've got a question about steels used in ball bearings. I've heard that some bearings are made from A2 tool steel. Is that true? I got my hands on bearings that were taken from an old building from around the 1930's. It's probably about 15 lbs or so. Is it worth anything to any bladesmiths here. I really don't have any use for it and I was wondering if anybody needs some. Obviously, I'm not very familiar with availability of steels. I figured that if anyone for some reason is looking for it you could post a reply. I wouldn't know A2 from 420, so I don't even know exactly what I have. Ok, well if anyone has any info or wants it, let me know. Thanks.
