I have always wondered what the longevity is like on the ball and detent relationship. I EDC'ed a small seb for 2 years and opened and closed it thousands and thousands of times. The ball and detent always had a nice fit together, and right before the blade fully closed, the detent would suck the ceramic ball in, and the blade stayed shut very well. With my new large seb, I notice that this is ALOT less noticable. I thought that maybe it was due to the overall dimensions being longer, bigger, wider and thus giving more leverage on the folding action. But... when I remove the blade to look at the detent, I notice a definate groove leading into the detent that allows the ball to smoothly "ramp" out of the detent. I would prefer it to be a little more solid.
Anyone that owns both the large and the small model notice differences in the two? Or for that matter, anyone that has open and closed their seb about a million times notice a difference?
thanks,
Jeff
BTW heres a pic of a creative litte way to carry your allen wrench around with you. look closely
