Hello, what kind of spring would work out for a ballistic knife? Which springs are most powerful, material? Which springs doesn't deform/weaken of being tense a long time?

How long should the spring be at its minimum? Width? I would like a narrow spring, so the knife won't be clumsy, but i don't want to compromise with the power.

no ideas on the springs themselves but just wanted to give a friendly warning to be darn sure you triple check all your local legalities before construction.... ballistic knives have been one of the most heavily regulated and restricted items in the world for a few years now..... I'd hate to see a fellow knife lover in it with the feds over something so simple and silly.

just be cautious....

I only know of Utah allowing ballistic knives, and that's an iffy. In many places they aren't even legal to own, so getting high quality parts like super steel blades and factory springs are pretty much out of the question. I'd love to see the legality of them laxed because they are realistically worse than a knife in almost every situation, though.

To find a good replacement spring your best bet is to take measurements. With those measurements I would suggest you going to a spring air rifle forum and asking there, they would likely know more about springs than most of us.

Yeah, in most States..these are frowned upon.
Be cautious of that fact.
