What's the stories on these. I purchsed one back in the eighties.
I see them come up for sale every now and then and seems they get
a lot of attenion. Are they considered illegal now. What's the skinny on these?

I believe they were outlawed in 1986. Not sure about pre-war model legality though. I definitely would not recommend keeping it anywhere except in your safe/display case.

Definetly jail time if you get caught with it. You had better send it to me, I am licensed and trained to dispose of deadly menaces to society like this knife.

:eek::D:D

Apparently they are big in Russia special forces... Mostly a display piece since owning them is illegal. But why would you want to shoot away your knife? I dont get it.

Had one also.

Sold it to a bloke in England [ had to send the spring seperatly]

Got a LOT of money for it,paid about 100 and sold it for 400.00

If I were you,I would see what you can get for it,then buy a real knife.

They are basically junk.
They can't shoot the blade very far at all, with any power. Just a few feet, even with the most powerful spring you can find to put in it.
Even with that, it can barely pierce an inch or so into a simple cardboard box at 5 feet. And maybe it might even bounce off of it too. The speed/energy of the blade depletes so rapidly, that it's only even halfway passable at ranges which you could reach with your arms and a knife in your hand, anyway.

It's a great fantasy knife for a person to imagine that it actually does something. As anything else, it's essentially worthless.
