Ballistic Knives?

Why is it that I can carry an automatic knife, but not a Ballistic knife?
Heck, I even have a CWP. It allows me to carry just about anything a billie club, stungun, regular or automatic knife, a 10MM Glock with 16 rounds of 135-230 gr bullets. capeable of dropping a brown / blackbear. Some of the better made 165 GR Gold Dots from www.Doubletap.com travel at 1400 FPS and mushroom out to over an INCH! and penetrate 14.25 inches in gelitan, after going through four layers of wet denium and two layers of cotton T-Shirts. With the punch of 750 FPE. I mean, This is a carry gun for me. When shooting watered down loads.(which is exactly what the .40 cal was invented for) The 10MM was too much power for many FBI agencys. Both in the recoil department and overpenetration issues. But I can't carry a simple knife that seperates from the handle? I hate Gun / knife laws!

Are you talling about those cheesy crap knives used in Commando and the Punisher. A knife that launches out of the handle perhaps?

Stick to your Glock. The reason they're illegal IMO is it is a offensive stealth weapon, you'd be dead buy the time you got the cover off of it and pulled the safety pin out of the lever to use the thing in a defensive situation.
As far as I know though you can own one in a lot of states but it'd be your rump if you got caught carrying it around.

The so-called Spetznatz ballistic knife wasn't that great at deal by most users accounts - the force needed to cock the spring was immense, and the actual lethality was questionable beyond a few feet - if it existed at all. I wonder if the supplier was just doing a Russian version of "Issued to the elite Navy SEALS!"

Aside from the implication of disarming yourself, projectile launchers have improved considerably since the advent of gunpowder. Spring powered self defense weapons are still served by Daisy, or Microtech. Of the two, I prefer my Red Ryder.
