Ballistol on Brass

I read a firearms ad for Ballistol. One of the pros they quoted was that it would dissolve brass debris in chambers. If it will dissolve brass, how safe is it on a blade with brass trim? Anyone have any bad experiences with Ballistol on their brass trim?

ive read that ballistol will tarnish the brass...
not sure on this once since i havnt tried the can i have :D
im sure others will chime in with their experiences *cough* dave *cough* :)

I have found that a light rub down with Ballistol cleans brass up pretty well. However, leaving an uneven layer on the brass can leave dark spots. I usually try to dry the Ballistol off the brass immediately after use.

I have had no negative experiences using Ballistol on the brass portions of my khurks. I usually leave a light film on them.

I use Ballistol on everything, just about. I would wipe on/wipe off brass.

I have used it on guns, knives and axes, machete, wood handles and knife cuts on myself (from training). It works as good as they say it does. Oh it is great for leather too, IMHO:thumbup:
