Does anyone besides me use Ballistol on their knives? I use it to condition/cure my blades and as a lubricant. It seems to work great on almost anything.

For years I have used it on my firearms both inside and out. I also use it on my leather pistol holsters. The Byrd knives I own with the Chinese steel seem to particularly do well with it as an anti-rust protectorant.

Just curious...

I like Ballistol for specific applications. Still I'm not just a huge advocate of using at a lubricant, with that being said I've come to prefer it for protecting steel from corrosion, but prefer Lucas Gun Oil as a lube on both my knives and guns. When I can't get that I generally settle for CLP Breakfree. I also use Ballistol on my Boots, sheaths, as well as holster, though I'm no leather expert.

I use Ballistol on my scythes. Soaks into the old wood of the snaths and puts some spring back in them while protecting the iron and steel components.

I use it mostly for leather and synthetics, but I also wipe down blades and rifle parts with it. I use tuf-glide for pivot lube though.

i also use ballistol both for wiping the blade n lubricate the pivot...i have been using it for over 6 months n it seems work great! i have no any complaints whatsoever

I have used Ballistol for years to clean and protect my firearms from corrosion, especially the barrels. I also use it to clean and preserve all the metal components on my knives. I do not however, use it as a lubricant but rather, I use Lubriplate SFL-0 instead - the best firearm and knife action lubricant there is bar none.

I use Ballistol for cleaning my firearms, Shooter's Choice grease for lubrication.

I have the full-size, black, serrated, KA-BAR and I wipe it down with Ballistol to prevent rust. But since the sharp edge is the only exposed steel, I'm not sure that it's really necessary. I'm curious to hear what others have to say about Ballistol with KA-BAR's 1095 coating.

I have before. Not only does it work wonders on steel, but it is one of the only oils that is safe to use on wood too. Unfortunately it costs.

I use BALLISTOL for many of the uses you guys have listed but there is one job I use it on that just blows my mind. I own several Spyderco knives and a couple of other knives with G-10 handles. I find that Ballistol not only rejuvenates and repairs G-10 handles it also restores color to older G-10 knife handles that have dried out and color faded over time. A guy who used to work for Spyderco's factory outlet store turned me onto to it several years back and it's been a lifesaver for me.

It's a great product for firearms, knives ( particularly folders with polymer handles), fishing gear and many other uses for outdoor equipment and sporting goods in general. But again the restoration job that it does on G-10 handles is nothing short of miraculous. The only negative I can report is that it does have a petro-chemical smell to it that bothers some people but I find it goes away in a short time.

It's a great product that I won't live without. I use Ballistol along with many of Sentry Solution"s products along with some of the Militec Lubricant products. Millitec and Sentry Solution's products are also top notch and every knife/gun owner should have them. Ballistol I'm sure has dozens of viable uses. Other than Spyderco's G-10 handles I've used it on 2 other manufacturer's G-10 handles and again the results are great.

Hickock45 turned me on to Ballistol. I had never heard or seen it until watching one of his videos. I use it to clean and lubricate my firearms as well as me knives. It doesn't seem to last as long though. I also use Flourinated grease on my pivot points. My experience has been good so far with it.
