Here is a couple of shots of a small filet knife I just completed. Nothing unusual about the knife but I wanted everyone to see this spectacular wood that came from a friend in Sweden. It is Baltic birch burl. I was a little surprised at how soft the wood was but a bath in a stabilization tank toughened it up. I dyed the wood with leather dye which made the wood grain even more dramatic.

Sweet GL. I use a good bit of Baltic Birch! Next time you're down this way I'll show you the best wood store I've ever been to.
