Sometime last month, I took notice of a thread by BF member Bambara (Vladimir Kolenko) entitled "Crusader dagger". What I saw in terms of detail, workmanship and content impressed me.
Four days ago, Bambara posted another thing of beauty in another thread entitled "Gold Cross Crusader Dagger" (pic below), which I reviewed most thoroughly. It was then that I noticed his website was listed in the thread, so I checked it out. An understatement to say that I was impressed - and VERY surprised to see he was located in the US, rather than what I presumed was probably Russia or somewhere else in Eastern Europe (he has now edited his profile for location). At that point, all I needed to know was whether it was available.
Many who know me know how often I comment that I don't care for Damascus. But now and then, a piece changes my mind a bit, and that's what happened here. Dagger and sheath (now in hand here) are wonderful pieces of quality art. No question that Vlad must love his work, because it comes through in the final product. Forumites, trust me when I say that your positive comments about his work were, indeed, deserved.
Thanks, Vlad!
