my girlfriend has some bamboo island (I believe is what its called) gel like stuff she uses on her cutting boards to stabilize them I believe is how she put it and I was reading the ingredients on the bottle and it says mineral oil stabilized with vitamin e and bees wax and carnuba wax. would that be safe to put on my carbon blades for corrosion resistance?

carnauba wax is a tiny bit acidic from what I read. How much is in the oil and will it be enough to darken your blade? No idea.
So I guess that didn't help you much.

Mineral oil is sold at every drug store, Walmart/target/kmart for a few bucks a bottle and one bottle will last you years (sold as a laxitive in the Rx areas). Safest just to use a known product.
