Pops and I have been running a dozen bush hooks the last few nights and been getting one or two fish every morning. This morning we had three nice catfish. Here is Dad with the biggest.

We keep them alive in an old commercial dryer drum that is attached to a hand winch until we are ready for one.

I skinned and filleted the middle sized one we got this morning and thought I would demonstrate the split cane knife I made a couple of days ago. Here is the video:

Awesome!!! I love setting bush hooks and trotlines. Last few times I've been out it's been more gar and mudfish than cats though. A couple summers I caught an 89 pound flathead out of the Tailrace Canal in SC. Actually got tired of fried catfish by the time we ate all the meat. Wish I had digitalized pics of the damn thing. Perhaps I'll find someone with a scanner.

Thanks CRR. We put out a trot line this morning while running the lines. Now that the big fish are starting to bite, I'll probably put out a few dozen more bush hooks and another trot line.

You sound a bit like Elvis. Until you prove otherwise, "THE KING IS BACK". Hallelujah! Nice demo, thanks for sharing!

very cool Fishshooter...great stuff man... i always love your posts..:D

Sorry to anyone trying to check out the video. I can't say right now, but you guys are not going to believe why I had to take it down!!

I'm guessing you had to take it down, because some people found the video to be a violation of animal wellfare rights.
People like to eat meat, but many don't like to think about where it comes from.
It's a shame, cause i'd very much like to see how you do things.
